We are a Regional Cultural Organisation which conducts programs and events for music, dance and drama lovers and provides a platform for people to showcase their talents.
Learn MoreAs an Odisha based organisation, we usually conduct programs to commemorate and pay tribute to the greatest artists of all time. For this purpose, we either bring in established artists from all over the country or give opportunities to budding talents. Since the majority of our team consists of Bengalis, we celebrate Rabindra Jayanti, Baishe Srabon, paila Baisakh, and many more such auspicious days along with tributes to Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Manna Dey, etc by performing their songs at events which gather huge audiences from all over the state. The dilligence and hardwork of all the members of Pragati is something to be applauded.
Pragati has always been successfull in organising many events each year since the beginning. This year, due to the unfortunate coronavirus pandemic, we have not been able to organise programs as before. But that did not shatter the wills of the members of Pragati and to keep conitinuing the tradition, we have decided to go digital. The members perform snippets of a classical song in accordance with the theme from the comforts of their home and the videos were merged together to form a beautiful program.

In this program, we performed Nazrul's most famous works to commemorate him on his birthday. With 27 participants performing joyfully and with lots of practice, the program saw huge success. He reshaped Bengali literature and music as well as Indian Art with contextual modernism. In 1913, he became the first non-European to win the Nobel Prize in Literature. Paying a tribute to him on his birthday has always been mandatory for Pragati. Thus, this program saw the participation of 26 members performing songs, dance and reciting his poems beautifully.
